Contact Lenses

At Temkin Opticians we offer contact lens fittings. Contact lenses are a good alternative for eyeglasses. Contact Lenses have come a long way since being made from hard plastic and now are made from soft, thin, flexible, plastic like material that latches onto your cornea without you ever feeling there’s something in your eyes.

As eye care specialists at Temkin Opticians, we never recommend replacing your eyeglasses with contact lenses but, having contact lenses available you now have options to choose when and what to wear. Most contact lenses come in two options of wearing schedules.

  1. Daily disposable contact lenses are the ones you wear for one day only. You open a new package when you want and toss them out at the end of the day. In most cases they are the best option for occasional wearers.  There’s no maintenance required, no cleaning needed, and no solution required.
  2. Monthly/bi-weekly contact lenses are for those who wear contact lenses more often. In most cases they are less expensive but require a little maintenance. You have to store these contact lenses in special solutions so they won’t dry up, and don’t have any bacteria build up.

Contact lenses are now available for most prescriptions. Whether you have astigmatism or you need multi-focal lenses there are now options for you to wear contact lenses. You can always call us at Temkin Opticians in Vaughan if you have questions about wearing contact lenses. We offer free trials for those who never had contact lenses or even considering something new due to your current contacts just not feeling right.

Another fun aspect of soft contact lenses is, some brands are available in assorted colors. You can find more info about Freshlook brand contacts at the following website:
